About the role

Join our fast-paced international environment and you will teach English language and English Literature across the age and ability ranges within a curriculum founded on the National Curriculum for England, GCSEs/IGCSEs and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

You will challenge your students to set ambitious targets for themselves and seek out and implement innovative teaching practices to enhance the student experience and outcomes. You will be committed to the wider role of a teacher in an international school and be an enthusiastic form tutor and involve yourself in our care and guidance programme and co-curricular activities.

About you

Able to create a classroom culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved, ideally you will have a degree in your specialist subject, a teaching qualification plus considerable teaching experience and knowledge of the curriculum. Receptive to feedback and ready to embrace change, you will be keen to share best practice with colleagues.

A strong ambassador for the school, you will be able to develop new ways to engage students and parents with the wider school and Nord Anglia Education community. Your strong motivation and communication skills will also enable you to create a feeling of energy, excitement and personal investment within the classroom. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for Hungary.

Responsibilities

The Teacher will aspire to the highest standards of professionalism and will, in particular: 

  • Generate excitement and passion for the subject in students and the wider school community; 
  • Inspire trust and confidence in students, colleagues and parents; 
  • Engage and motivate students to strive for the highest achievement; 
  • Use technology in the classroom to enhance learning; 
  • Be relentless in the quest for excellence, using achievement and progress data and lesson observations to seek out and promote excellent teaching; 
  • Support continuity across all phases and contribute to the development of curriculum, pedagogy and teaching across the school; 
  • Continually strive to develop the quality of students’ learning across the curriculum, particularly in relation to language development; 
  • Contribute to school improvement planning and the development of the curriculum; 
  • Develop and deploy curriculum, schemes and resources efficiently and effectively; 
  • Promote the school mission and values and those of the NAE family of schools. 

Qualifications/Trainings

  • Qualified to bachelor degree level or above.
  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Compliance with visa requirements for working in Hungary.
  • Hold a current Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure or equivalent for countries lived in outside of the UK.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils. And the willingness to undertake appropriate child protection training when required.

Experience

  • Proven track record with at least two years’ teaching experience.
  • Demonstrable evidence of innovating and adapting curriculum to engage children and enable them to perform highly.
  • Working in partnership with parents.

Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication in English.
  • Ability to engage children and enable them to perform highly.
  • Strong organisational skills and use of technology.
