Position Summary 

This position is responsible for the University’s English marketing content for all segments on various channels, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with RMIT’s writing style and value propositions. The role especially involves responsibility for creating and curating English content for RMIT’s Postgraduate segment and international markets, including website, articles, brochures, email marketing, social media posts, and other materials.

Reporting Line

Reports to: Strategic Creative Content Manager

Key Accountabilities

  • Curate and create English content for Postgraduate segment (social media posts, website articles, email marketing, publication, etc.)
  • Write, proof-read and edit English marketing materials for Undergraduate segment (publication, website, events, campaigns, social media, video, email marketing, newsletters, leaflets, presentations, etc.) based on the content direction of the Strategic Creative Content Manager
  • Curate and create English content for International markets (brochures, leaflets, website, campaigns, other marketing materials) based on the content direction of the Strategic Creative Content Manager
  • Ensure English communications have a consistent voice, comply with RMIT’s quality standards and writing style guidelines, and align with RMIT’s value propositions.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • A discipline relevant tertiary degree (e.g. Public Relation, Journalism, English)
  • Experience as a professional writer (journalism, public relations, marketing or advertising backgrounds would all be considered).
  • Native English speaker with strong writing skills: Minimum 3 years of experience in content writing for offline and online marketing materials, PR articles, publications/brochures and/or website content. Experience in writing ad copy for social media channels is a plus.
  • Demonstrated strong history of published work as well as experience/interest in the education sector.
  • Demonstrated strong and updated computer proficiency (MS Office, online office tools, digital editing, web search and databases).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with others, showing tact and diplomacy but with a commitment to meeting communication objectives on time and on strategy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position and RMIT Values 

English Proficiency

English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (General) score of at least 8.0 (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines).

For any role, English Language Proficiency may also be proven by showing successful completion of secondary education to a level qualifying to enter university study while being instructed through the medium of English, as per the RMIT University recognised qualification list.

Work Permit

All foreign employees must adhere to the requirements for obtaining a valid visa and work permit in Vietnam. These requirements are mandated by the Government and may be over and above the mandatory requirements and key selection criteria. Work permit requirements are subject to change. RMIT Vietnam accepts zero tolerance to non-adherence of the immigration laws of Vietnam.
