Job Summary
Job Description
Collective Encounters is seeking a freelance consultant with expertise in participatory research and/or arts evaluation to undertake a short impact review of its Women in Action programme.
Contract type: Freelance
Hours: Approx. 4 days
Fee: £1200 inclusive of fees and expenses
Location: Attendance at sessions in Liverpool City Region will be required
Timescale: March – April 2025
The Project
Women in Action is a three-year programme funded mainly by the National Lottery Community Fund. The programme uses performance and creativity to develop and celebrate women’s leadership, resilience and activism in their communities. Activities include a regular weekly group in Liverpool City Centre and partnerships with a range of community groups to build confidence and skills among women facing social and emotional barriers. The three-year Women in Action programme is coming to an end in September 2025 and we are seeking to commission an external review of this work to help explore its impact, successes, and improvements, as we consider next steps.
The Impact Review
The aim of the review is to identify the emotional, social and political impact of the Women in Action programme to date, and its potential impact in the future.
We expect the review to be conducted mainly via focus groups, participatory sessions, and interviews with project stakeholders (e.g. participants, staff, partners). A large amount of project data (such as output numbers, demographic data, creative outputs, session report forms) is also available to support the review if needed. This is not intended to be a full evaluation of the project, but rather a short focused review (approximately 5-6 pages) based on time-limited qualitative data gathered through participatory methods.
