General Summary
The Department of Teaching, Learning, and Educational Studies seeks a Faculty Specialist for one year to help meet the department’s growing enrollment.
Major Duties
The individual for the position will be required to teach across multiple programs and up to 30 credits per academic year. This may include supervising pre-interns and/or interns. The individual will also engage in departmental service and curriculum improvements.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in K-12 Education, Educational Foundations, or closely related fields from an accredited institution.
- Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses (face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online) in K12 Education.
- Experience in a K-12 public school setting.
- Experience teaching adult learners and diverse populations, including second-language learners.
- Passion for and demonstrated commitment to improving the educational opportunities and outcomes of ethnically, culturally, economically, and linguistically diverse communities, focusing on inclusion, equity, and social justice.
- Desired Qualifications
- Evidence of scholarship in the field of education demonstrated by publications in journals and presentations at national and/or international conferences.
- Record of professional involvement and leadership (e.g., professional associations) in the field of education.
- Experience securing research grant funding.
- Professional experience in an international or global setting (e.g., teaching, consulting, and research).
