Job Summary

County Hall Arts is seeking a Festival Director to launch the Four Season Festival of Culinary Art, Classical Music & Classic Cinema at London’s County Hall. The postholder will lead on the artistic vision of the festival and be hands-on in the organisation of the quarterly event.

Job Description

Taking place at London’s historic County Hall on the Southbank each season (every three months), the Four Season Festival will celebrate the culinary arts, classical music and classic cinema.

Each quarter the festival will offer an array of performances, exhibitions, screenings and workshops, amplifying County Hall’s identity as a vibrant and distinctive culture centre for artistic production, presentation and cultural exchange.

The Festival Director role involves leading the end-to-end planning and delivery of a dynamic, multidisciplinary arts festival in close collaboration with County Hall Arts (CHA). Key responsibilities include developing the festival’s vision, goals, and programming strategy, ensuring alignment with CHA’s values and audience interests. The position requires curating a diverse lineup of performances, exhibitions, screenings, and workshops that celebrate various artistic disciplines and cultural expressions.

You’ll be responsible for building and managing strong relationships with artists, performers, exhibitors, community groups, and strategic partners. This includes engaging with cultural institutions and local government bodies to enhance the festival’s reach and impact.

Operationally, the role includes managing logistics such as venue coordination and on-site execution, with a focus on safety, accessibility, and sustainability. Collaboration with County Hall’s management team will be key to ensuring a seamless event experience.

Financial responsibilities include creating and overseeing the festival budget and allocating resources effectively

Additionally, you’ll lead the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing and communications plan. Working closely with CHA, you will help shape the festival’s public profile.

Job Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience (5+ years) in arts and/or culture event planning, festival management, or a related field.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate, manage, and collaborate with an eclectic team.
  • Knowledge of the arts and cultural programming – with a genuine passion for one or more of the Culinary Arts, Classical Music and/or Classic Cinema.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
