As the Finance Manager (FM) for Roche Pharma Ecuador, based in Quito, you will be part of the Roche Ecuador Enabling Team and will report to the General Manager of Ecuador with a functional reporting line to the Finance Manager Latin America.

You will be jointly accountable for the affiliate transformation, fostering an environment that promotes trust, transparency, and a patient centricity that inspires and motivates teams to develop and adopt an agile way of working. You will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial results of the affiliate, procurement, supply chain and treasury. Your financial responsibilities can be categorized as follows:

Insights 

  • Proactively identify key challenges and opportunities, assessing their impact on the organization.
  • Identify industry trends, potential business opportunities and risks; generating meaningful market insights.
  • Support employees to translate data into actionable insights, contributing to the long-term sustainability of the affiliate.
  • Stimulate an environment which encourages smart experimentation, rapid iterations and the ability to scale.
  • Support network for the tri-affiliate structure and secure the right framework for decision making while balancing risks.

Long-term portfolio planning and resourcing strategy 

  • Drive a simple and fit-for-purpose business planning process that captures key strategic directions.
  • Formulate a local finance strategy balancing global/regional requirements with local imperatives.
  • Engage with business partners in crafting and executing value enhancing decisions through business performance (actuals vs. forecast).
  • Guide the business in meeting short to long-term goals by providing relevant financial and non-financial information.

In this position, you will be responsible for providing leadership & coaching for the functional areas Business Finance, Financial Accounting (in collaboration with Roche Services and Solutions team), Tax (dotted line), OneProcurement, Treasury & Credit Management. You will also be expected to coach individuals within other functions specifically to progress our network system for Therapeutic Areas across LATAM. You will also lead and sponsor key strategic projects and initiatives (local, region, global and cross function). This is a key role for Business insight to foster Business Development in all the markets.

  • Encourage the team to speak up different perspectives, to bring new ideas for more efficient & impactful ways of supporting the business.
  • Continue to shape and implement new ways of working for the team, whilst contributing to the affiliate transformation journey.

  • Help the team get different experiences to enrich their business understanding and capabilities based on their development areas & career interests.
  • Actively participate in feeding the global finance talent pipeline.

  • An outstanding financial acumen with a proven track record of sound fiscal planning and management.
  • To have a minimum 10 years of finance experience with time spent in a leadership position; a professional Accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACA, CIMA) or University Degree/MBA and a proven record of ensuring financial governance and a strong network with the internal and external financial communities.- Pharmaceutical knowledge is highly appreciated.
  • Spanish language.
