CWGLEF Community Engagement Project Coordinator
Contract: July 2024 – December 2024, 88 days with approximately 4/5 days per week
Budget: £22,000 including expenses
The Commonwealth Games Legacy Enhancement Fund is supporting a community engagement programme in Wolverhampton that will enhance the exciting major events happening in the city in 2024, including the Festival of Football, Urban Sports FISE Xperience and the build up to the Kabaddi World Cup 2025.
The commissioned coordinator will be responsible for the community engagement programme surrounding the 2024 major events in the city. They will deliver a variety of exciting events and activities in Wolverhampton Arts and Culture venues and community venues across Wolverhampton. They will be responsible for recruiting a team of freelance artists and performers and coordinating the marketing and relationship building with family, adult and formal education audiences and partners.
Coordinator Commission
Outline of the project coordination and delivery:
- Commission, deliver and evaluate the community engagement programme for the Festival of Football, Urban Sports FISE Xperience and the build up to the Kabaddi World Cup 2025, engaging with key partners and stakeholders.
- Co-create the activity programme with community groups, arts and non-arts organisations around the city.
- Monitor and measure performance of the relevant stats to inform decision making, evaluating and reporting these to internal and external stakeholders and funders to meet outcomes. To prepare, as required, reports for presentations to Senior Management Teams and other groups and organisations, both within and outside the Council.
- Copywriting, digital and print marketing content and coordination.
- Coordinate the project budget, reporting to the Arts and Culture Management team.
- To contribute to the Wolverhampton Cultural Strategy planning.
Job Requirements
Project Coordinator Criteria
We are looking for a coordinator with:
- Experience of programming events and coordinating freelance artists and performers, in arts and community venues
- Experience of designing and delivering evaluation, including report writing and monitoring
- Experience of co-creation with communities
- Experience of project management including budget monitoring
- Experience of stakeholder engagement
- Experience of copywriting and coordinating digital and print marketing
- Knowledge of best practice in audience development and community engagement initiatives in the museums sector
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)
Key relationships will be with the Programmes Manager and Cultural Learning team.
Some evening and weekend working may be required to deliver this role.
