Project Outline

The BFI is the UK’s lead organisation for film and a globally recognised cultural institution. As a government arm’s length body and distributor of National Lottery funding, we support the cultural, creative, and economic development of film across the UK.

Driven by a shared commitment to support emerging talent to build sustainable and remarkable careers, BFI and Film4 have joined forces to offer Future Takes, offering support for higher-budget live action, short-form projects from teams of UK-based writers, directors and producers. After a successful pilot round, the second round of the fund will support six films in production between April 2026 until March 2027.

The role is designed to provide high-level, advisory support to funded producers and projects, helping navigate the development and production process with confidence. This includes providing comprehensive production support in a mentorship role: reviewing and analysing production materials and paperwork and overseeing projects through pre-production, shoot, and post-production.

The successful candidates will be appointed on a freelance basis with a set fee of £2,000 per film and fixed day rate of £300 for adhoc consultation and/or any additional work required
