ecological data management and contribute to meaningful projects whilst growing your career in
a supportive, learning-focused environment within the GIS Services team.
  • A role where alongside technical GIS and data skills, you can utilise broader consultancy
skills and gain ecological knowledge relevant to your work
  • Diverse work including a variety of tasks of varying scales in a wide range of sectors
including renewable energy, heritage, residential, recreation, infrastructure, and on projects
requiring biodiversity net gain and habitat creation
  • A holistic approach to continued professional development supported by external and
internal training and payment of membership of relevant professional body
  • Flexibility with work location including home-based
  • In addition to a competitive salary and 25 days (excluding bank holidays) annual leave, we
offer benefits that include flexible working, private healthcare, company-funded social events
    and health and well-being benefits

What we are looking for:

  • 2-3 years + post graduate experience in GIS and data management, preferably within
    ecological/environmental sector
  • An appropriate degree or equivalent in GIS, spatial analysis or a related discipline
  • Experience of using QGIS and PostgreSQL/PostGIS database including understanding the basic
principles of good data quality and the management and analysis of data though the use of
    SQL/python languages
  • Knowledge of ESRI’s ArcGIS products for the interpretation and presentation of data
  • A good understanding and experience of integrating outputs from other drawing and
publishing packages commonly used in consultancy (such as CAD) into GIS.
  • Experience of being part of a team delivering GIS support in a consultancy environment,
    ideally providing ecological outputs
  • The ability to identify and implement technical solutions in relation to GIS, spatial
    analysis and data management
  • A demonstrable track record in dynamic workflow management and prioritising multiple tasks
