Global Category Manager – Pharma Drug Substance
We are looking for a Global Category Manager who is innovative, adaptable, and collaborative to join our External Manufacturing Procurement Department, based in our offices in Brussels / Braine l’Alleud, Belgium.
About the role
You will have responsibility for a specific spend area, Pharma Drug Substance, of the Global External Manufacturing Procurement. This portfolio represents a large number of Contract Manufacturers located world-wide and engaged with UCB for commercial and clinical manufacturing. You will drive end-to-end sourcing project, contracting and commercial life-cycle management, including initiatives to improve quality of service and supply. Additionally, you will actively support the development of the Pharma Drug Substance category strategy.
Who you’ll work with
The role reports to the Global Category Lead – Pharma Drug Substance. You will partner closely with senior stakeholders from our External Manufacturing Organization and External Clinical Manufacturing Organization, as well as partnering with external contract manufacturers.
What you’ll do
- Lead the commercial relationship with established contract manufacturer
- Provide market dynamics, benchmarking, and market intelligence to support the elaboration of the category strategy and identify potential new partners
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to deploy strategies globally, facilitated by implementation and transition plans.
- Drive sourcing activities, from tender to contracting, including commercial life cycle (contract amendment, WO, PIR update etc.)
- Lead commercial negotiations
- Deliver Master agreements and maintain approved list of selected preferred suppliers.

- Master degree.
- Experience working for a large multinational organization.
- Ability to work independently and on multiple projects.
- Capable of operating in cross-functional, multi-lingual and multi-cultural environment
- Pharma experience is preferred.
