Job Summary

Cathedral Music Trust is looking for an experienced Grants Manager to work as part of our team.

Job Description

Grant-making is a central part of Cathedral Music Trust’s activities, with over £450,000 disbursed in recent years per annum to support cathedral music and choral foundations. Our grants programme sits within the wider Programmes department, which strengthens the sector through partnerships, education and research initiatives.

The Grants Manager will primarily be responsible for managing the Trust’s grants programmes, working closely with the Grants Assessment Panel and Programmes Committee. Responsibilities include managing application processes and timelines, assessing submissions, supporting funding decisions, communicating with applicants, and overseeing monitoring and evaluation.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the charity as it seeks to shape its grants programmes to help cathedrals and choral foundations meet the challenges of sustaining excellent choirs and offering opportunities to child and adult musicians from diverse backgrounds. The Trust is currently delivering a five-year strategy to increase its impact and support across the sector.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, with meticulous attention to detail and an excellent communicator, capable of building strong relationships with applicants and stakeholders. They will be a proactive problem solver who can manage competing priorities and contribute ideas to strengthen the team’s work.

The role is remote within a small team, requiring initiative and self-motivation. Some travel will be required for meetings and stakeholder visits. The Trust is committed to each team member’s professional development, and this role offers a great opportunity to develop a career in grants and project management.
