Together with the customer, we define a project for the required services that our Eurofins employees should provide at the customer’s location. During the ongoing project, the responsibility for project management, the previously defined laboratory services and the deployment of our employees in this project lies with Eurofins PSS.

Job Description

To manage a PSS team on the site of our client, a leading international pharmaceutical company in Bern, we are currently looking for a Group Leader – Scientist Protein Pharmaceuticals. Your main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Plan and monitor laboratory experiments, all according to the required quality standards
• Coordinate and manage a PSS team to ensure that laboratory productivity, quality, documentation, working hours, safety and excellence are managed to maximum efficiency
• Statistical data evaluation
• Communicate results to project team in the form of a report or presentation
• Create and revise technical documents, including operating procedures, test or process protocols, and reports
• Supporting digitalization efforts
• Ensure that the customer receives the best possible service by continually reviewing best practice with regard to commercial and quality issues and ensuring 100% ethical working standards and GLP/ GMP compliance
• Developing, coaching, motivating and building team morale through effective teamwork and the use of reward and recognition systems to celebrate team successes
• Communicate regularly with customer and Eurofins management to ensure information is shared effectively and actions are taken immediately

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD degree in Protein Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
• Knowledge of handling pharma products (proteins), protein analytics and stability studies
• Solid understanding of wider pharma product development (proteins) and regulatory requirements
• Excellent leadership skills (at least 2 years’ experience)
• Ability to communicate clearly and build strong working relationships with colleagues
• Desirable experience working in a GMP regulated environment, GLP and GSP
• Experience in project-oriented, multidisciplinary, and multicultural environments
• Proficiency in electronic data evaluation, general computing, and software applications
• Fluent English, both oral and written, German is a plus
