Head Carpenter

TEG Live Europe and Life Like Touring are looking to fill the position of Head Carpenter for the upcoming UK Tour of Gabby’s Dollhouse Live! from March-May 2026. Based on DreamWorks Animation’s hit Netflix series, the live show will rehearse in London March 2-21, before touring.

Candidates should be London based, have local work rights, and be available for all rehearsal and national tour dates from 2 March 2026 up to/around 3 May 2026. Rehearsals will be in London from 2 – 21 March, before heading off on tour.

Employee shall perform all services customarily rendered by the Head Carpenter of a musical theatre show (of the same quality and calibre as a West End musical). Without limitation the following employee duties shall include:

• Reporting to the Production Manager, assist with ‘advancing’ rehearsal and performance venues
• Attendance at rehearsals assisting with set and props
• Alongside the Production Manager:
  • Liaise with venue technical managers as required ensuring all requirements are met
  • Confirm technical requirements, staff requirements, and ensure venues have any pre-rigging or other technical requirements completed prior to arrival
  • Help manage the load in and load out process at each tour venue, managing crew to ensure all technical requirements of the production are met
• Assist with management and direction of local carpenters and stagehands
• Be actively involved in the running of each performance backstage, including the movement/operation of soft goods, scenery, audio, lighting, LED wall, set electrics and props, as required
• Manage contingency plans for the set and running of the show, as required, and implement at need
• Ensure all documentation for the production, including technical plots and running sheets are in place and kept updated
• Manage and maintain touring set, soft goods, props and electrical equipment
• Health and Safety oversight, including compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice
