We’re creating new roles and opportunities at the Octagon as we reshape our team to match our ambitions. This role will lead our commercial trading, venue management for providing every customer with the friendly outstanding visitor that the Octagon is known for!

Job Description

* Drive commercial performance and improvement, maximising opportunities such as venue hire, hospitality, events, retail and customer-focused activities.
* Lead customer experience, achieving the highest standards of welcome and service across all customer interactions.
* Lead venue management, ensuring the smooth and secure operations of the Octagon for all building visitors.

Job Requirements

* Several years of managerial experience in a cultural venue or visitor attraction in an operational, customer-facing and/or commercial role.
* A track record of outstanding team leadership.
* A track record of achieving improvements in customer experience and/or commercial performance.
* Entrepreneurial thinking, able to assess commercial opportunity and drive results.
* Able to set and control budges and negotiate contracts.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to prioritise effectively and manage competing demands.
* Knowledge of security, safety and health practices for a public venue.
* Knowledge of licensing requirements.
* Knowledge of building and facilities issues.
