Head of LX & Video

Relight the show in each new venue.
Take a lead on the LX load out during the weekly venue moves.
Power on, power off, rig check and operate all performances to the highest of standards.
Troubleshoot and rectify any issues as efficiently as possible to make sure the performances run as planned.
Work alongside the stage management, company management, sound, venue and technical teams daily. Communicate in detail and collaborate with other departments at all times. Keep all lighting & video paperwork up to date and accurate, and generate any new paperwork as and when changes are made. Attend production meetings as and when required. Take a lead on daily maintenance during show calls.
Take a lead and organise all preventative maintenance calls as regularly as the management team sees fit. Fill out reports provided for maintenance.
Work alongside the tour’s production electrician to ensure all is running smoothly.
Look ahead to the venues to come and highlight any concerns.
Book and manage freelance electricians as and when required to undergo maintenance or take on any major fixes.
Book and organise annual PAT Testing, in collaboration with the Production Manager.
Ensure all power related risk is managed daily.
Re-focus lighting & video fixtures when needed.
Make any creative edits or changes, with the approval of a lighting or video designer.
Take on rigorous pre show rig checks, and ensure all fixtures are in good working order and are focussed correctly.
Keep deputy lists up to date, and train relevant individuals. Engage new deps as and when necessary.
Ensure all lighting & video equipment is in good working order at all times.
Attend rehearsal, technical, dress and understudy rehearsals as required.
Take on any other duties reasonably asked of an Head of LX & Video in a first class touring venue.
Take responsibility for training and supervising the technical swing.
