The Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research (FIMR) at Northwell Health, in partnership with Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), welcomes applications for a full-time faculty position to serve as the inaugural Head of the Translational Cancer Research Laboratory. The incumbent will establish and oversee a clinical laboratory at FIMR and a facility at CSHL that supports collaborative phase 0/1 clinical trials and translates scientific findings from the NH-CSHL partnership into treatments and diagnostics, and they will also pursue independent research at FIMR and CSHL.
In addition to conducting independent research laboratory at FIMR, the successful candidate will be a key member of the FIMR’s Institute of Cancer Research. The ideal candidate will bring innovative ideas and diverse methodologies to translational cancer research projects in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment. Areas of personal scientific interest may include such areas as theranostics, immunology/immunotherapy, cancer neuroscience/physiology, and precision oncology. The successful applicant will hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) in biology, medicine, or a related field.
This position reports directly to the Robert and Janet Perro Endowed Chair for Cancer Research at FIMR and will work closely with the CSHL Cancer Center Director to foster collaborative projects between the two institutions. The successful candidate will benefit from all the resources available to FIMR faculty, CSHL faculty, and CSHL Cancer Center members, including innovative research core facilities and access to many scientific seminars, conferences, and courses run through the internationally renowned CSHL. Both FIMR and CSHL have highly ranked graduate schools that train PhD students and vibrant postdoctoral communities that steadily attract talented early-career researchers.

Compensation will be nationally competitive. The successful applicant will receive a comprehensive start-up and benefits package that includes initial funding in addition to the base salary. The salary of the person selected will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to scope of role, level of experience, education, specialty/subspeciality, credentials, academic and research accomplishments, clinical and/or research productivity, quality metrics, patient experience, site/location internal equity, budget, and Fair Market Value evaluation.
