Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Head of WHAM for a new play premiering at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith. Featuring a cast of 6, the play is the first in a season of new plays produced and directed by American director Andy Sandberg at the venue.
Dates:
Rehearsals (at Riverside Studios): from 1st September, Head of WHAM to join W/C 14th September
Technical Rehearsals: 21st – 25th September
Previews: 26th September – 3rd October
Press Night: 5th October
Performances: 6th October – 21st November (possible extension to 28th November)
Salary
£800/week
Plus holiday pay, and overtime where applicable

The successful candidate will have:
A minimum of three years’ experience in WHAM on productions of a similar professional scale
Demonstrable experience working on new writing theatre productions
Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills
Strong wigs maintenance and dressing skills
Experience working on productions with wig quick changes would be an advantage
Job Responsibilities
Supervising the day-to-day running of the WHAM department throughout rehearsals and performances
Working closely with the Costume Designer, Costume Supervisor, Production Manager, Stage Management team and wider creative team to realise and maintain the Wigs, Hair and Make-Up design for the production
Fitting and styling wigs and overseeing the sourcing and making of any additional make up required
Preparing, maintaining and dressing wigs to a high standard
Managing all petty cash records and WHAM paperwork as required
Teaching make-up plots and carrying out make-up plots as needed
Assisting with wig fittings, costume calls and technical rehearsals
Supporting the Wardrobe Manager with quick changes for wigs during performances
Ensuring Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices are maintained within all wardrobe and backstage areas
Carrying out all other WHAM duties associated with a production of this scale
