Position Information Kingsgrove North High School is a public comprehensive, coeducational high school in the Beverly Hills Network of schools. It is a school that offers every student a place to learn, lead and achieve their personal best. Kingsgrove North High School has a current enrolment of 950 students with 92% students from a non-English speaking background. Our diverse community includes students from 47 different cultural backgrounds. HSC academic achievements have meant that our high achievers pursue sought after courses at universities of their choice and many other students follow pathways through TAFE and work. The school offers a variety of VET courses to allow students to learn skills in learning spaces that are of industry standard. STEM is a growing area at Kingsgrove North High School and there is a strong Community of Schools program. Kingsgrove North High School is involved in a wide range of community partnerships which aim to broaden student learning experiences. The school has also developed strong links with local businesses that have contributed towards improving student learning outcomes.

Specific Selection Criteria 

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, 

  1. Approval to teach English (7-12) with demonstrated evidence of exceptional classroom practice and results driven by data informed practice.
  2. Well-developed understanding of current evidence-based pedagogical practices, with demonstrated ability to lead the implementation of high-quality teaching-learning programs that result in student engagement and growth.
  3. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a cohesive team with diverse teaching experience who are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence and continual improvement.
  4. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven capacity to dynamically work as a productive member of the executive team to analyse data and to lead, implement and support whole school priorities in the school’s Strategic Improvement Plan.

General Selection Criteria 

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal education policy

Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
