  • Initial salary placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2024 – 2025 MSCF Contract (http://www.minnstate.edu/system/working/docs/contracts/mscf-contract.pdf#page=61) , and conducted by the Minnesota State System Office.

Job Description

This posting is for a full-time unlimited health instructor at Inver Hills Community College with an anticipated start date of August 20, 2025.

Inver Hills Community College seeks a UFT faculty member to join the faculty in our Health and Physical Education/Exercise Science Department. Specifically, we seek an individual with demonstrated ability to teach a variety of health courses. We are especially interested in those who can contribute to the diversity of the college with demonstrated commitment to teaching in a wide variety of formats to a wide variety of students. Experience with program-level assessment and service to the department and college is desired. Faculty members at Inver Hills are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental, campus-wide, and external activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission. The college is committed to a collegial environment reflecting a diversity of perspectives and backgrounds among its administrators, faculty and staff..

Example of Duties:

  • Develop curriculum.

  • Deliver course instruction, including face-to-face, hybrid/blended and online.

  • Participate in professional development.

  • Participate in college and department committee assignments.

  • Conduct classroom research and other assessment/evaluation activities.

  • Mentor and advise students.

  • Participate in Program/Department Review.

  • Provide service to the college community.

Appointment Start Date : August 20, 2025.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirement

  • Master’s degree in health or

  • Master’s degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in health.

Preferred Qualification

  • Additional Master’s degree in physical education, exercise science, kinesiologyor Master’s degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits(27graduatequartercredits)inphysicaleducation,exercisescience,orkinesiology.

  • College teaching experience.

  • Online teaching experience.

  • Experience in curriculum and program development.

  • Experience with program review.

  • Experience using student-centered learning strategies.

  • Experience assessing student academic achievement.

  • Experience working with diverse populations.

Other Requirement

In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
