Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Health Screener is responsible for providing age-appropriate screenings and flu shots per departmental guidelines. Screenings include blood pressure cholesterol blood sugar body composition and hemoglobin. The Health Screener will also assist with clerical duties such as data entry and site set-up including setting up the screening banner and work stations. The Health Screener will keep all clients and co-worker information confidential obey all HIPPA laws and observe safety precautions at all times. Must be able to communicate effectively with a wide spectrum of the public with diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds and be able to work as part of a team.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of relevant health screening experience required

  • MA, CNA, EMT, or a graduate of a vocational nursing school required

  • 2 years of experience in project coordination to act as Health Screener Lead.

  • Working knowledge of managed care basics and experience working with a managed care and Medicare population.

  • Computer literate with keyboard skills pleasant speaking voice and demeanor.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Neat professional appearance.

  • Must be willing to work at various locations.

  • HSD/GED

  • Basic Life Support Cert (CPR).

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical assistant experience preferred

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Pay Range

$23.00 – $31.38 /hour
