New York City Mayor Eric Adams is head of the executive branch of New York City’s government. Previously, Mayor Adams has served the people of New York City as an NYPD officer, state senator, and Brooklyn borough president. The Adams’ administration is leading the fight to serve the people of the greatest city in the world, ensuring delivery of efficient and effective services, working to make New York City’s economy stronger, reducing inequality, improving public safety, and making the city more affordable that meets the needs of all New Yorkers. We value leadership, transparency, fairness, and efficiency as we actively seek diverse talents from various sectors to join our team.
The Team You’ll Work With
The Mayor’s Office of Talent and Workforce Development (“NYC Talent”) works to mobilize New Yorkers and the local talent development infrastructure to achieve an inclusive economy and realize the citywide employment objectives laid out in Mayor Eric Adams’ Executive Order #22. To promote equity and relentlessly tackle historic employment disparities, we aggregate and align public and private resources to match talent to opportunity; disaggregate data to understand and adapt to the rapidly changing labor market; leverage technology advancements; promote targeted policies; and engage employers and jobseekers.
NYC Talent oversees three of the City’s Industry Partnerships that ensure NYC businesses can find the talent needed to thrive and grow and New Yorkers are equipped with the skills and qualifications needed to access jobs with family sustaining wages. Industry Partnerships are sector-based intermediaries among industry, government, organized labor, academia, philanthropy, community-based organizations, and training providers that work together to drive the economic vitality of NYC in a way that is inclusive of all New Yorkers.
The New York Alliance for Careers in Healthcare (NYACH) is the Industry Partnership for the healthcare sector, bringing together disparate entities of the healthcare and workforce development ecosystem to address the healthcare industry’s rapidly changing economic and labor force needs. NYACH works with employers and other stakeholders in the industry to understand the future of the sector, translate that understanding for the workforce development ecosystem, and galvanize coordinated action to anticipate and prepare New York City for the healthcare economy of tomorrow.
Workforce Development Corporation: This position is employed by the Workforce Development Corporation (WDC), an independent not-for-profit created by the City of New York.
