In the role of Healthcare Planner 1, we’ll count on you to support the planning and design of healthcare facilities as part of an integrated architectural team. This position is well suited to an early‑career architectural professional who is interested in healthcare environments and motivated to develop specialized expertise while contributing to meaningful projects that support patient care and clinical operations.
In the role of Healthcare Planner I, we’ll count on you to:
- Provide planning, design, and coordination support on healthcare projects.
- Prepare architectural drawings, diagrams, and space plans using CAD and BIM tools.
- Assist with translating clinical and operational requirements into architectural layouts and test fits.
- Support space programming and functional planning activities under the direction of senior planners.
- Participate in user group meetings and planning workshops as a supporting team member.
- Coordinate planning information with architectural, engineering, and project management disciplines.
- Research applicable Canadian healthcare facility guidelines, standards, and best practices.
- Prepare presentation materials, reports, and planning documentation.
- Perform other duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Architecture
- A minimum of 3 years experience in healthcare A/E industry
- Familiarity with healthcare facility planning concepts and terminology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Working knowledge of BIM software such as Revit
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or closely related field
- A minimum of 1 years experience in A/E industry
- Strong organizational skills
- Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, prints, drawings and models
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated and flexible
- Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in the construction of buildings
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
