Why does the job exist?

The Healthcare Surveyor/Licensed Oversight Healthcare Surveyor will:

• Perform surveys and investigations at Assisted Living Facilities, Adult Daycare Centers, Boarding Homes and Crisis Treatment Centers to determine their level of compliance with State regulations.

How does it get done?

The Healthcare Surveyor/Licensed Oversight Healthcare Surveyor is responsible for:

• Performing initial, regulation reviews, complaints, and revisit surveys and monitoring of unlicensed facilities statewide for healthcare facilities, including Assisted Living Facilities, Adult Daycare Centers, Crisis Triage Centers and Boarding homes to determine level of compliance with State regulations;
• Investigating complaints of abuse, neglect and exploitation of the above listed facilities;
• Testifying and participating in administrative hearings.

• Clients residing in Assisted Living Facilities, Adult Daycare Centers, Crisis Triage Centers and Boarding homes

Minimum Qualification

Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Architecture, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Rehabilitation, and/or Criminal Justice and two (2) years directly related experience in community based healthcare services and case management. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License. Must Possess and maintain a current Defensive driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting and in Healthcare Facilities with phone and extensive computer usage. Some sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending reaching and lifting up to twenty (20) pounds may be required. In-state travel with frequent overnight stays is required.
