The Sport, Exercise & Health Division are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support our Hospitality offer at our Outdoor Sports facilities at Coombe Dingle Sports Complex.

The Hospitality focused team within Business Development consists of a team of casual student staff and our chef who is contracted for 24 hours per week. During the first 2 student terms, the busy days are Wednesdays and weekends. Then during the summer term and the summer – the working days vary as cricket matches are played throughout the week. At Coombe Dingle we provide our hospitality offer for a range of student and community groups. We are looking for a Hospitality Assistant (20 hours per week) to support the operation of this area of our business.

As a member of the Business Development Team, the successful candidate will play an important role in support the income generation for the Division. There is a particular focus on, alongside our strategic priorities (outlined below) on our Hospitality provision @Destination Dingle.

Sport, Exercise and Health strategic priorities: 

  • Increase student participation levels, driven by a focus on student health, wellbeing and student satisfaction. This will be achieved through an offer which is fair and equitable. 
  • Facilitate students gaining employability skills through sports leadership, volunteering, officiating, coaching, and administrative opportunities, and experiences. 
  • Develop an inspirational and inclusive student-led community, which allows sports clubs and talented athletes to reach their potential. This will be achieved in an environment which is built on pride, partnership, ambition, and trust. 
  • Contribute to the health and wellbeing of staff by providing access to healthy activities. 
  • Maximise commercial opportunities in a manner that creates significant opportunities for student development and/or provides an income that can be re-invested in the experience. 
    • Bar service
    • Serving customers
    • Ordering stock
    • Stock Management
    • Cleaning
    • Replenishing Vending machine stock
    • Re-arranging tables and chairs
    • Training casual staff
    • General kitchen duties

    You have experience working behind a bar and have good customer service to a wide range of clientele. A passion for sport and physical activity is also preferable, but not essential.
