Job Description:
As an integral part of our Operational Team, you will be responsible for planning and executing various events with a strong emphasis on customer interaction. Your dedication to understanding and achieving our business goals, coupled with a commitment to maintaining high standards in all aspects of your work, will be crucial. Your primary focus will be to ensure that food, beverage, and service standards are meticulously organised and executed, delivering a top-tier restaurant dining experience within a large-scale banqueting environment. Collaborating with your team, you will develop event business plans aligned with the overall business strategy, while efficiently managing costs and ensuring optimal delivery of gross profit. Your role as Operations Manager encompasses people management, motivation, training, and development, ensuring that every aspect of our business, from logistics to equipment handling, consistently meets our high standards.
Ideal Candidate:
We seek a candidate with extensive events experience, encompassing both mobile and fixed site venues, who is now looking to advance their career within an in-house employer, specifically contributing to the high-end events dining level at Cardiff University. Essential qualifications include substantial experience in managing “Large” Event Function Conferences, banqueting, and weddings, with exposure to financial management in high-volume quality venues. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational and planning skills, along with excellent communication capabilities, allowing them to interact confidently with clients, management, and staff at all levels. Financial acumen is a must, as the role involves managing events and high-profile client relationships. Additionally, you will be actively involved in planning and overseeing VIP events, providing support to your team during these occasions.
