Description and FunctionsOpen Until FilledGENERAL DESCRIPTION:Solid pay & benefits, team environment, rewarding work!The Wyoming Retirement Center is seeking a motivated LPN to provide quality health care to persons with mental health, dementia, and medical needs in a home-like setting.   • Provides professional nursing services to residents in chronic and acute care settings.
  • Performs nursing assessments, diagnosis, treatment & evaluation of ill and disabled persons.
  • Accurately prepares and administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
  • Assists patients in ADLs (Activities of Daily Living).
  • Trains and assigns work to CNAs.

QualificationsPREFERENCES:Preference may be given to those individuals who have six (6) months of experience in a long-term care setting.

  • Knowledge of laws, principles, practices, and techniques of professional nursing.
  • Knowledge of medication, administration, and complex mathematical calculations for the correct dosage.
  • Knowledge of maintaining medical records, charts, reports, and observations.
  • Knowledge of the aging process, medical problems and diseases, and behavioral issues.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to health care and Standards of Nursing Practice.
  • Knowledge of and ability to function and make decisions in high-stress situations.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use good oral and written communication skills to articulate thoughts and medical terminology.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Associate’s Degree (typically in Nursing)Experience:0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing)Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of WyomingOREducation & Experience Substitution:2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing)Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of WyomingNecessary Special RequirementsPHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Lift/transfer patients to different positions.
  • Lift medical/patient equipment of varying sizes and weights to about 50 lbs.
  • Work holidays, evenings, nights, and/or weekends as scheduled.

  • FLSA: Non-Exempt
  • A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
  • For our residents’ health and protection, annual influenza vaccination is required, and annual testing for tuberculosis.
  • Employees of this facility will be expected to follow all rules and requirements established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regarding COVID-19.
