Job Purpose
The Medical Lead role is a unique opportunity for an experienced, innovative, and proactive medical professional to facilitate the understanding of the value of our medicines and vaccines, the science behind them and the public impact they can offer. This is accomplished by jointly developing and implementing the global medical strategy by providing clear guidance on strategy based on local care gaps and priorities identified during local situation analysis.
The Medical Lead for IL-5 (Nucala/Depemokimab) is accountable for overall medical strategy of a key asset and achievement of the tactical objectives. This role is critical to the overall success of the asset and in ensuring patients benefit from our advancements. They are responsible for ensuring strategic alignment with Commercial and Global Medical. The position will lead directly and indirectly, a Medical Matrix Team responsible for developing and executing multiple Medical affairs Strategic and tactical plans. They will work in a thriving team of medical business leaders where people will be inspired to drive towards achieving our goals of getting Ahead of Disease Together and positively impacting patient and population health outcomes globally.

S/he must have the ability to develop and facilitate a common vision for the Department and also be able to develop strategies that proactively drive value-added delivery of medical information, safety data and technical support. Additionally, the Director has a track record of contributing to the development of strategic plans and a reputation for productively challenging others to consider other courses of action.
Proven leadership skills and strength in people management: Experienced at managing, developing and motivating a team to deliver results in a timely manner and at pace. Track record in leading an organization to achieve improved levels of performance and the ability to communicate a compelling vision, which will generate enthusiasm and commitment for the organization. He/she is skilled at hiring, assessing and developing individuals with a track record of improving performance and experienced in setting high performance standards and measures, driving accountability throughout the function and mentoring staff. Reputation for leading with high integrity and strong ethic, with GSK values clearly role modelled.
A collaborative and team-oriented style: Collaborative, team-oriented approach. Effective at developing and supporting relationships broadly across an organization as well as with key external stakeholders and the healthcare community at large. Experience being an active contributor and influencer across cross-functional teams and/or working in highly matrixed organizations will be essential. He/she must also demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changing demands.
Results orientation. Demonstrated strong process and planning skills to secure complex mandates and a track record of delivering results on time and within budget to satisfy multi-stakeholder expectations while acting with integrity and professionalism. He/she should demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to taking accountability and ownership for their area of responsibility.
Governance: In-depth knowledge of GSK’s SE Principles, Promotion, Codes of Practice, ABAC, Operating Practices and their interpretation/application in real-life settings. Must be conversant in JPMA and MHLW guidelines as well as Japan GCP and Clinical Trial regulations
