Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia is hiring a full time Inpatient Clinical Pharmacist!

Schedule: Rotating shifts: 6:30am- 2:30pm or 7:30am-4pm

Every third weekend rotation

SOME evenings required: 2:30pm-11pm

• The ideal candidate must be highly knowledgeable with USP 787 and 800 and have a strong interest in mentoring.
• IV room experience is highly preferred.

Job Description: Manages patient drug therapy in accordance with the medical staff approved clinical practice standards. Maintains current knowledge of drug use through continuing education. Serves as the primary resource for drug information within the hospital. Assures the appropriateness of all physician medication orders. Precepts pharmacy students as assigned.

BLS required within six months of hire. Please note: Clinical Pharmacists working in Sentara Rx (0014891) are excluded from the BLS requirement. Will consider new graduated pharmacists and pharmacists not licensed in Virginia/NC due to relocation. Must have Virginia or North Carolina (applicable to location) license within 90 days of Sentara start date.

Qualifications:

BLD – Bachelor’s Level Degree: Pharmacy (Required)

Basic Life Support (BLS) – Certification – American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Pharmacist License (RPh) – State license – North Carolina Board of Pharmacy (NCBOP), Pharmacist License (RPh) – State license – Other/National, Pharmacist License (RPh) – State license – Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP)
