Job Description 

The English department is seeking applicants for a part-time, non-tenure track, non-benefits eligible instructor position at the Athens campus for the Fall 2023 semester and the 2023-2024 academic year. The need for these positions is undetermined at this time and is dependent on operational need including enrollment and staffing. The instructor will teach first-year and/or advanced composition or another writing or literature course as assigned.

English Department: The Department of English has 29 full-time faculty across the main campus and seven regional campuses and centers in Southern and Central Ohio. College of Arts & Sciences: This college is central to Ohio University’s transformative learning experience. The foundational instruction for the entire university, delivered through the general education and liberal arts curriculum, is provided by the College of Arts and Sciences. Minimum QualificationsMA in English, or minimally a Masters degree and a cohesive set of 18 semester credit hours of discipline relevant graduate course work.

Preferred QualificationsExperience with teaching of writing.

Previous experience teaching English courses at Ohio University.
