Announcement of Position
The Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management, located on Treaty 1 land, invites applications for a full-time probationary (non-tenure track) appointment at the rank of Instructor I or Instructor II. The rank of appointment and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointment will begin January 1, 2025 (or soon thereafter).

Qualifications
The successful applicant will contribute to the delivery of curriculum in the Bachelor of Kinesiology-Athletic Therapy degree program. Candidates will have an earned MA/MSc (thesis-based degree preferred) in a related area. Candidates will have experience with teaching and curriculum design in post-secondary education and have demonstrated a commitment to teaching excellence. Appointment to the rank of Instructor 2 shall normally be restricted to those who have 5 or more years’ experience in a University or equivalent position Candidates must be a CAT(C)* in good standing (or eligible to apply for CAT(C) certification by the CATA). Candidates will also have proven clinical and field experience.

Responsibilities
The position will include teaching and service responsibilities. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate students in the Bachelor of Kinesiology-Athletic Therapy degree program. In addition, this position includes service within the University, the faculty, and in the larger community and will engage in activities of professional interest and benefit to the Faculty, the University, and the profession.

Faculty Information
The University of Manitoba campuses are located on original lands of the Anishinaabeg, Ininew, Anisininew, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Red River Métis. FKRM offers the following degrees: Bachelor of Physical Education (BPE), Bachelor of Kinesiology (B.Kin and B.Kin (AT)), Bachelor of Recreation Management and Community Development (BRMCD), Master of Science and Master of Arts in Kinesiology & Recreation. It also has a Ph.D. program in Applied Health Sciences offered collaboratively with the College of Rehabilitation. Approximately 530 undergraduate and 60 graduate students are enrolled in the faculty. Faculty members have vibrant research programs funded by SSHRC, NSERC and CIHR and other agencies. Bison Sport and Recreation Services provide a broad range of programs to the University and Community, through intercollegiate sport, recreation services, Mini-U programs, and athletic therapy.
