JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Instructor or Assistant Teaching Professor in MIS/SCM
Penn State Altoona is seeking an instructor or assistant teaching professor in Management Information Systems/Supply Chain Management to begin as early as July 2025.
The primary responsibilities may include teaching a range of in-resident undergraduate courses focusing on management information systems/data analytics (MIS 345, MIS 431, MIS 301, MIS 404) and business statistic courses (SCM 200). This full-time position carries a 12-credit load per semester.
This is a limited-term, 1-year (36 weeks) position with excellent possibility of reappointment. The hire must regularly be on campus to meet students’ needs face-to-face and engage in the campus face-to-face.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have earned a master’s degree or higher in Management Information Systems or related business field ideally from an AACSB-accredited business program. The ideal candidate should have a proven record of quality instruction in management information systems/data analytics, business statistics courses, or relevant business experience as well as a commitment to academic service.
Candidate should also be qualified to teach undergraduate courses in Management Information Systems (business data analytics) and Supply Chain Management (business statistics).
In addition to the required courses of Business Statistics and Business Analytics, the position ideally will expand to cover some of the following topics:
Additional academic services include supporting the enhancement and the visibility of the business and accounting programs, as well as advising students in the business and accounting degree programs.
