QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree
• Valid Texas EC – 4, EC – 6 or Elem 1-8 certification; or other elementary certification with a commitment to obtain the required grade level certification
• ESL Supplemental, Bilingual Supplemental or commitment to obtain this certification
• Minimum five (5) years of teaching experience on elementary campus with demonstrated success

Special Knowledge and Skills

• Experience with the implementation of instructional strategies including sheltered instruction and early literacy that promote and enhance the academic achievement of all learners
• Experience and knowledge of implementation with classroom manipulatives and technology
• Expertise in culturally responsive pedagogy
• Experience with the implementation of professional development
• Experience with providing academic and socio-emotional support to special populations
• Experience with providing academic and socio-emotional support to special populations
• Experience in developing curriculum activities and TEKS-based assessments
• Ability to analyze campus data
• Demonstrated leadership skills at the campus level
• Ability to work with others
• MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Assist teachers in working with at-risk students, LEP students, and other special needs students
• Serve as a resource for classroom teachers with strategies, plans, and materials
• Participate in ongoing staff development and networking meetings
