Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic Data Developer Intern who is passionate about building and optimizing data pipelines and infrastructure to support cutting-edge AI-powered applications. The Fusion Machine Learning team is a multi-disciplinary group of engineers and researchers dedicated to developing AI/ML solutions for some of the biggest challenges in 3D design, manufacturing, and mechanical engineering. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Data Operations: Develop and execute strategies for the acquisition, transformation, and preparation of datasets to facilitate the training of ML models and make outputs of ML models usable

  • Data Infrastructure: Support the development and maintenance of databases, data schemas, and queries, ensuring data integrity and accessibility

  • Operational Efficiency: Contribute to improving the team’s efficiency by assisting in the implementation of MLOps and DevOps practices

  • Data Analytics: Analyze complex datasets and effectively communicate valuable insights to technical and non-technical stakeholder audiences, including with visual tools and dashboards

  • Deployment Automation: Adapt research models to automated deployment pipelines

  • Collaboration: Collaborate across MLOps, Data Acquisition, Machine Learning, and Product Management teams

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in a full-time, degree seeking program with an expected graduation date in 2026 

  • Strong understanding of data modeling, database concepts, and data warehousing principles

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL

  • Experience with efficient algorithm and data structure design

  • Experience with cloud data processing, training, and deployment platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)

  • Experience with statistical analysis, machine learning, natural language processing, and prompt engineering (e.g., sklearn, PyTorch, NLTK, LLMs)

  • Self-motivated with the initiative to find and implement solutions independently

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with UI development

  • Experience in REST API development

  • Working knowledge of Docker

  • Experience with AWS SageMaker or other cloud machine learning platforms

  • Experience working with data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Dask, Ray)

  • Experience working with data integration tools, ETL/ELT frameworks, and workflow management systems

  • Knowledge of the design and manufacturing industry and Autodesk or competitive products (CAD, CAE, CAM, etc.)
