Reporting to the Corporate Communications Manager, the Internal Communications Specialist plays an essential role within the Communications team and the company at large, encouraging transparency and promoting the company culture across multiple locations. They will assist with drafting a variety of clear and concise internal communications, in both English and French, to effectively relay important information across the organization’s Headquarters, Retail and Fulfillment Center locations. The ideal candidate has meticulous attention to detail, a good understanding of effective corporate messaging, and is perfectly bilingual.
Responsibilities
Planning and Execution (25%)
- Support the communications strategy and roll-out for special projects ensuring all stakeholders are consulted and timelines are agreed upon
- Support with the development of a cross-departmental internal communications calendar that thoughtfully organizes all forecasted communications and ensures that capacity is available and communications are well received
- Ensure that internal communications guidelines are respected across the company to maintain consistency across channels and messaging
Corporate Communications (25%)
- Assist the Manager, Corporate Communications with the tracking of incoming requests for external speaking engagements including conferences, panel discussions, events, etc. to support project and capacity planning
Internal Communications (50%)
- Assist the Manager, Corporate Communications with the coordination of quarterly companywide presentations and other internal events to deliver a seamless employee experience
- Contribute to the development of new internal communications initiatives to engage and inform employees across multiple locations
- Draft a variety of multi-channel internal communications in English and French (ex. email communications, monthly newsletters, presentations) concentrating on our Fulfillment Center population with a sensitivity to tone, subject matter and audience
- Review and translate to French internal documents such as various communications and policies ensuring accuracy in tone and consistency in quality
- Manage the bilingual digital signage content across all our locations
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Translation, or a relevant field
- A minimum of 3 years experience in English-French translation and localization
- Experience in corporate or internal communications within high growth and diverse organizations
- Mastery of French and English grammar, spelling, and usage including ability to craft culturally-sensitive texts
- Proficient with Google Suite
- Experience with Photoshop, an asset
