UNICEF Sao Tome and Principe is supporting the country’s child protection system to strengthen capacity for improved response and prevention of violence against children (VA. As part of ongoing efforts, a qualitative and quantitative research is being undertaken at national level, in collaboration with the National Institute of Statistics, and various social sector ministries such as education, health and social protection, and the technical support of an international research institution, on the wellbeing of children and adolescents in STP, with particular focus on knowledge, attitudes and practices related to VAC, in school, family and community settings. The research aims to advocate and inform a contextappropriate policy, legal and programmatic framework (including reporting and referral mechanisms, as well as case management protocolto address VAC and the design of effective social behavior change interventions. The qualitative datacollection phase of the research, entailing key informant interviews, indepth interviews, and focus group discussions with various stakeholders, has now been completed by the research team. UNICEF STP and the research team are looking for support of 2 to 3 consultants to conclude the transcription of the interviews, in order to proceed with the qualitative data analysis.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

Education: A university degree (Licencin one of the following fields is required: Social Sciences, International Relations, Government, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development, or another relevant technical field.

Work Experience: Two years of relevant professional work experience in research, social development, or any other relevant function with specific experience in transcription work.
