International Policy Analyst – Nuclear Programs

Make a difference in national security as a program analyst with Leidos, supporting the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Defense Programs’ Office of International Programs in Washington, DC.  This office supports international collaboration under Mutual Defense Agreements (MDAs). Technical expertise is required in support of ongoing mission-critical activities in support of NNSA Defense Programs and international partners. This is a full-time position onsite at the customer site in Washington DC.  Some travel is required both domestically and internationally (up to ~25%).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support ongoing programmatic activities related to cooperation under Mutual Defense Agreements with U.S. strategic allies and the NNSA National laboratories.
  • Directly support the Federal Program Manager regarding the day-to-day activities involving these international cooperative activities.
  • Maintain continuous close liaison with the NNSA Headquarters, NNSA sites, various offices in the DoD, applicable foreign embassies (Washington), and foreign counterparts.
  • Coordinate with senior U.S. and foreign government leadership, ensuring communication of current strategic goals.
  • Facilitate and participate in international information exchanges.
  • Assist with the maintenance and updating of procedures for the process of transmitting information between countries.
  • Review technical information for program adequacy and manage a large library and database of accountable physical and digital classified documentation.
  • Manage all recordkeeping requirements for technical meetings.
  • Communicate, analyze, and resolve complex program execution issues.
  • Assist with classified mail preparation and handling.
  • Coordinate travel logistics and meeting details with foreign counterparts and lab personnel.
  • Obtain/maintain derivative classification authority and classify documents.

Qualifications

  • Active DOE Q or Active DOD Top Secret clearance with recent investigation
  • Bachelor of Science, International Affairs/Foreign Affairs, or similar field with 4+ years of relevant experience OR a Master of Science, International Affairs or similar field with 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to travel as business needs required (up to 25%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain/maintain derivative classification authority and classify documents.
  • Direct experience working with NNSA laboratories, plants, and sites.
