Do you have a passion for cancer research? Do you want to understand how obesity and adipose tissue drive lethal prostate cancer and grow your career at a world-leading University?
This studentship investigates repurposing of anti-diabetic/obesity drugs for the treatment of obesity-driven aggressive prostate cancer using cutting-edge patient-derived and in vivo models. The student will be embedded within the growing multi-disciplinary team of Dr Claire Fletcher, Dr Nil Grunberg and Professor Charlotte Bevan.
Requirements: applicants should hold a first or upper-second class honours degree or equivalent in molecular or cell biology, biomedical sciences, or a closely-related discipline, and a Master’s degree in one of the above fields. Priority will be given to candidates with experience in cancer research, handling of primary tissue samples, and a range of molecular biology techniques, although full training will be provided.
