As a fluent Japanese speaker, you understand that translation is the art of translating language and culture. That’s why Parker Staffing is seeking a Translator for their program at Nintendo of America. This position offers a unique opportunity to be a critical liaison between Nintendo and their game development team in Japan. Not only will you be their go-to for project scheduling and planning, you’ll be translating technical content such as bug reports, game specifications, market research, and daily correspondence. WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

• Performing translations related to software development e.g., bugs, daily correspondences, game specs, market research, white paper testing, etc.
• Supporting Japanese developers and assisting in scheduling and planning
• Actively engaging in ongoing process improvement as well as personal development
• Maintaining a detailed knowledge of policies, procedures, and workflows
• Supporting internal and external groups on project management and short to long-term planning
• Providing excellent customer service to internal and external contacts
• Performing all job responsibilities in strict adherence to corporate prototype security policy and procedures

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• AA or higher in Language, Communication, Business, or equivalent
• Native level (oral and written) Japanese and English and the ability to use “keigo” (formal Japanese) appropriately
• Excellent understanding of Japanese and American business environment and customs
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience
• The ability to work from home using a private, dedicated work space at home capable of full time work via reliable, high speed internet (hybrid model – onsite work also required)
• Intermediate to high level of proficiency in MS Office applications
• Strong work ethic and ability to stay organized while multi-tasking
• Ability to multi-task under pressure in a fast-paced, highly confidential environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines
• Knowledge of video game software/hardware and industry strongly preferred
• Excellent verbal/written communication and relationship building skills, problem solving and cross-group collaboration

Successful candidates will be subject to a pre-employment drug test (drug test does not include marijuana) and criminal background check. Candidates must also be able to lift 25lbs as well as consistently sit, stand, reach, and walk for extended periods of time and as needed to handle full time operational tasks at a computer.
