You will work closely with senior legal staff and various departments within the company to provide legal advice and support business objectives.Responsibilities
- Assist legal team with both operational and commercial legal matters, such as:
- Negotiating and documenting commercial leases, including coordinating with internal business partners. This includes the negotiation and documentation of all ancillary documents such as non-disturbance agreements and estoppels.
- Negotiating all necessary amendments to commercial leases and resolving any disputes related to existing leases.
- Managing of renewal/extension dates and related negotiation timetable.
- Supporting legal aspects of construction projects, including reviewing and drafting construction agreements, purchase orders, change orders, and related documents.
- Being a central contact for day-to-day contractual reviews, negotiations, and drafting including: non-disclosure agreements/confidentiality agreements, software licenses, Live Casino agreements, and data processing agreements
- Checking terms of standard agreements against Company policy and terms of standard forms
- Review and monitor the changes in relevant legislation applicable to the operations of the Company and provide the update to relevant departments of the Company.
- Liaise with other departments of the Company and provide them with legal support.
- Coordinate and provide support to outside counsel on crucial issues of the Company.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Real estate and/or construction law experience strongly preferred
- Active bar admission/good standing in Michigan or Conneticut
- Minimum 1-3 years’ legal experience, preferably in a law firm
- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
- Excellent analytical skills with the capacity of identifying risks and proactively choosing the best solutions
