Job Summary Job Summary Position Summary Our schools are looking for talented and committed candidates to play a key role in the development of instructional practice that results in strong student learning outcomes. The ideal candidate would be able to provide Designated ELD instruction and collaborate with other grade level teachers on Integrated ELD. Instruction (70%) Plan and teach language classes of 5-20 students (K-8) using the recommended Systematic ELD curriculum. Administer progress monitoring curricular assessments and implement data informed instruction. Collaborate with schools’ ELD coordinators on student proficiency groupings, schedules, and performance. Collaborate with other grade-level teachers to review student data and plan appropriate language supports. Identify students who are not progressing and provide additional tier 2 language and literacy support. Attend quarterly PLCs with other ELD teachers and the regional Academics Team. Communicate with parents about ML student progress. Compliance (30%) Complete quarterly progress reports for current ML students. Coordinate and administer Initial and Summative ELPAC assessment. Draft and share assessment headlines with teachers after each testing round. Participate & lead in annual reclassification review process. Participate in IEP meetings for dual identified students (complete ML teacher input form pre meeting, recommend and record SBAC testing accommodations, share progress toward language goals and give insight into how language may impact or be impacted by the student’s disability). Minimum of three years of effective teaching experience
Experience as an educator teaching Black and Brown students
Education:
Current CA Teaching Credential plus CLAD or BCLAD
Knowledge/skills required:
Knowledge of CA ELD standards and phonics instruction (recommended).
Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and collaborating
Ability, willingness, and flexibility to meet the teacher’s needs for support

Be committed to being an anti-racist educator and have an understanding of cultural, cognitive, linguistic and gender diversity
Believe all students can achieve at the highest academic levels
Skilled in building relationships with teachers and other stakeholders and communicating with various stakeholders

Have proficient knowledge of Google Suite applications (Google Classroom, Hangout, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
Have the ability to learn and utilize instructional technology to support in-class and distance learning (i.e. Zoom, Nearpod)
