Job Summary

The Lead, Performance Improvement will be accountable for improving and implementing continuous improvement vision and tools touching all key areas of McKesson Canada’s supply chain. He/she will play an instrumental role in shaping / influencing the culture of excellence within Operations and work in close collaboration with the operations teams to implement and sustain performance improvement strategies. Some responsibilities will include developing and implementing trainings program, standard processes, standard improvement methods and management routines to ensure sustainable performance improvement of the supply chain. The candidate should have strong interpersonal and lean management skills to be successful in this cultural shift.

Specific Responsibilities

Relationship Management

  • Positively influence operation teams across the organization to ensure that performance improvement activities receive the necessary support in our sites and are resourced adequately to ensure the proper and timely implementation of solutions.

People Leadership

  • Coach and develop management teams and staff members to help raise level of competence around performance improvement
  • Ensure management teams and team members receive the proper training and guidance to be able to effectively coach, train, and mentor change agents within the business to achieve operational excellence goals and objectives.

Operational Leadership

  • Promote a culture of Operational Excellence across the distribution, identifying opportunities and implementing processes consistent with best practices
  • Implement strategic national initiatives and projects
  • Monitor alignment of National SOPs across all DCs.
  • Is a key player to continuously improve the efficiency of the operation; including fill rates, on time deliveries, accuracy, productivity, product integrity and cost.

National excellence system (continuous improvement system)

  • Develop and improve the operational excellence system
  • Define the implementation strategy of the operational excellence system
  • Develop and provide training to the management teams
  • Ensure the use of the lean principles in our supply chain.

Management Framework

  • Create and implement the management framework routines and tools around performance improvement in our distribution centers (12)
  • Develop and provide training to the management teams
  • Ensure best management practices are used in our different sites.

National performance audits

  • Convey national performance audits program
  • Track corrective actions
  • Issue recommendation to the sites.
  • Collect and share best practices.

KPI Monitoring, Data integrity

  • Validate and prioritize projects such as DC layout, warehouse-slotting, route planning, merchandise flow, capacity planning, inventory – aging, DOH, risks, damages – quality and service
  • Work with the data analytics team to create leading and lagging KPI to support our strategy.

Program management

  • Work along Sales and procurement operations to define optimal planning for our seasonal programs.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar role, management role or continuous improvement position associated with a robust understanding of supply chain, inventory management, merchandise flow and / or production operations within distribution centers
  • Engineering or business degree is an asset
  • Proven track record in implementing excellence system in a multi-site environment
  • Organized and methodical with a thorough work method
  • Proven problem-solving skills, detail oriented and good decision-making skills
  • Strong experience with engineered labor standards
  • Lean Six Sigma is an asset
  • Solid presentation skills, able to show opportunities while inspiring the teams
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Able to plan and lead facilitation sessions
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset
  • The incumbent of this position will provide daily support to internal and/or external clients outside Quebec and/or in the United States. Therefore, he/she must be proficient in spoken and written English. Please note that the number of positions requiring English language skills has been limited where possible.
  • Able to travel approximately 30 % of the time
  • Is up to date with the industry trends and can translate their application to McKesson.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$107,000 – $178,300
