Lecturer in Sociology

The Department of Sociology at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for the SOC 112b, Social Class and Social Inequality, 4 credit course in Fall 2023. This course is an undergraduate course where using sociological theories of media, students will examine how difference is constructed across race, gender, and sexuality and how those representations are connected to larger processes of inequality. Students are expected to complete a research project on media representations. The class meets on M/W 4:05-5:25. Candidates with a PhD will be given preference. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter and CV. The deadline for first consideration is Wednesday, March 20, 2024. This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.
