JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese at Penn State (University Park) invites applications for a full-time Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor position in Spanish (non-tenure-track), to begin in Fall 2025, with flexibility.
Responsibilities include teaching introductory language courses. Teaching load is eight hybrid courses per year or equivalent configuration. Onsite teaching is an essential function of this job. Applicants must have native or near-native fluency in English and Spanish. A minimum of a Master’s degree in Spanish or related field is required by the appointment date. Rank is determined by education and qualifications. This is a term, 36-week appointment, with possibility of renewal.

In their cover letter, applicants are encouraged to highlight any interests or experience with online teaching, teaching Spanish for heritage learners, study abroad programs, course design, and/or recruitment of majors and minors.
