The Boise Cardiothoracic Surgery clinic is now hiring a motivated and efficient Medical Assistant for our award winning and growing Heart Institute family!

Position Summary & Highlights:

• $1500 Sign-On Bonus Offered for this position to external candidates!
• This position will primarily support the Cardiothoracic Surgery clinic and will occasionally cover other sub-specialties.
• Our Cardiothoracic Surgery program offers the region’s most comprehensive program in a safe, state-of-the-art environment. Our expert cardiothoracic surgeons and world-class cardiologists work together at the region’s only Heart Institute to provide world-class heart surgery options, close to home.
• Our surgeons work closely with referring physicians and other specialists to develop a comprehensive treatment plan. Once in the operating room, our teams are very skilled at providing all the support necessary, using highly sophisticated equipment and leading-edge care.

What You Will Do:

• You will work in a fast-paced Cardiothoracic Surgery clinic supporting regionally recognized surgeons for innovation and quality outcomes.
• This position will perform rooming, vitals including manual blood pressure, chart prep, collecting patient medical history information, medication review, and EKGs.
• You will complete prior authorizations and patient calls, and tasks in the in-basket.
• An ideal candidate for this position is a team player who is self-motivated and likes to be challenged, is driven, and has strong critical thinking skills. You enjoy developing relationships with physicians and patients.
• Experience with cardiac medications, obtaining manual blood pressures, EKG placement, and rhythm knowledge is a plus.

Work Schedule:

40 hours per week, either 4 – 10 hour days or 5 – 8 hour days, during the week, Monday – Friday.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:
• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
• American Medical Technologists (RMA)
• National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
• American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
• For new MA graduates, minimum of 100 hour externship or MA work experience is required, even with MA certification.
