Position description

Girls Who Code is searching for a dynamic, results-oriented Community Partnerships & Outreach Manager to develop and execute recruitment strategies that drive Girls Who Code programmatic expansion. The Manager of Community Partnerships & Outreach will lead the development and execution of the outreach strategy for their territory. The Manager will lead a team of regional part-time permanent and part-time seasonal team members to cultivate and expand strategic partnerships with school districts, departments of education, library networks, and community based organizations within an assigned region of the country and identify relevant lead audiences for international outreach. They will work closely with both Community Partners and individual leads to launch Girls Who Code Clubs and drive the student recruitment process for Girls Who Code’s Summer Immersion Program and Self-Paced Program, in their assigned region of the county as well as in key international markets for Girls Who Code’s International Summer Programs applicants. In addition to leading their regional program expansion, the Manager will play a key role in leading assigned national expansion strategic initiatives that support the full Community Partnerships & Outreach Team.

The ideal candidate has at least four (4) years of demonstrated experience cultivating, building and maintaining high-impact school and community partner relationships, and/or experience in large-scale outreach, admissions, talent recruitment, account management, business development, or community organizing. They bring experience with cross-functional project management, people management, and working with diverse stakeholders of students, families, educators, and schools, and a passion for connecting girls with high quality, free, computer science opportunities. They thrive in a fast-paced innovative environment and are driven by meeting and exceeding regional expansion goals.

Candidates must meet the requirement of our hybrid remote work policy, which requires 2 in-office days per week. This is not a virtual/fully remote position.

Responsibilities:

Regional Expansion Initiatives (80%)

• Develop and execute regional outreach strategies to meet and exceed goals for their assigned territory of 10-14 states, as well as supporting nationally for the full Community Partnerships & Outreach Team program expansion goals
• Directly manage 1-3 part-time remote team members as they cultivate a robust pipeline of potential community partners through continuous lead research and persistent targeted outreach to contacts at high yield organizations, including school districts, departments of education, local STEM and education organizations, after school programs, and online networks
• Independently own 1-3 high-level cross-functional outreach workstreams that support national programmatic expansion across the Community Partnership & Outreach Team
• Conduct phone calls and email campaigns to individuals and organizations to build awareness for the Girls Who Code mission and programs
• Secure, cultivate, manage, and retain a regional portfolio of community partnerships to maximize their activation

National & International Expansion Initiatives (20%)

• Represent Girls Who Code at targeted virtual meetings, community events and conferences to increase brand recognition and increase applications to our Summer Immersion Program, Self-Paced Program, and Clubs Program
• Track and analyze program expansion outputs, progress, and outcomes by maintaining accurate Salesforce records and leveraging Salesforce reports and dashboards to drive data-informed recommendations for future outreach initiatives
• Collaborate with the overall Community Partnerships & Outreach team to improve the efficiency of team’s systems, processes, and outreach strategies as programs continue to scale
• Identify key areas of growth for program expansion in relation to a deep understanding of pivots in the education and nonprofit landscape
• (Seasonal) Develop and execute international Summer Programs student recruitment initiatives to meet and exceed goals for key international markets while maintaining a global network of international subscribers to the Girls Who Code social movement through quarterly mass communications.
• (Seasonal) Manage 1-3 part-time seasonal remote team members as they develop an international pipeline of lead audiences through lead research and targeted outreach to contacts at international school networks, NGOs, and other relevant organizations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years experience in recruitment, business development, partner management, or youth development
• Minimum 1 year of managerial and/or project management experience
• Commitment to Girls Who Code’s mission and to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and comfort working with people from all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Demonstrated experience leading multiple projects and balancing competing priorities
• Excellent communication, presentation, and people skills with an ability to balance priorities, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
• Highly organized with an orientation towards customer service that prioritizes timely, clear, thoughtful, respectful responses to stakeholders from all backgrounds
• Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and innovative environment; comfortable working effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines and goals
• Successful track record in project management, setting priorities, shaping processes, and executing quickly and effectively
• Data-driven: the ability to track outcomes through set goals
• Proactive and self-motivated; you follow-through with projects from start to finish
• Desire to learn and grow; team player with a flexible, creative, and analytical approach to problem-solving
• Experience in effective people management to drive motivation for high impact
• Experience with Salesforce (preferred)
• Knowledge of and/or interest in computer science, technology, and/or education (preferred)
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, maturity, positivity, and confidence
