For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $98,000 and $150,000. The actual base pay includes many factors, and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.

  • Assist in the development and execution of economic, reimbursement and market access strategies throughout the product lifecycle for a defined portfolio of products. 
  • Develop and implement tools and processes to clearly communicate the economic value of technologies and procedures and supportive reimbursement information. 
  • Recommend the appropriate development of evidence to drive optimal payer coverage, payment, and patient access for key projects, products, and initiatives. 
  • Participate in cross-functional teams (clinical/medical, outcomes research, regulatory, marketing, legal) to produce value propositions for key products, projects, and initiatives. 
  • Drive optimal payer coverage and payment for key projects, products, and initiatives by developing and maintaining relationships with payers. 
  • Support internal and external customers on questions and impact of product and procedure reimbursement. 
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of health policy trends and issues, interpret for business impact, and participate in cross-functional projects internally or externally to influence and enhance division and product position within changing environment. 
  • Provide economic and reimbursement due diligence assessment for potential new product development and/or acquisitions.
  • Educate and inform internal and external stakeholders on the importance and impact on the key principles of comparative effectiveness, technology assessment, evidence-based medicine, policy and regulatory decision-making, and payer considerations. 
  • Work cross-functionally with Field Sales, Medical Affairs, Finance, Legal, Regulatory Compliance, Commercial Operations, and Marketing to develop and implement effective reimbursement and market access strategies

The Manager, Healthcare Economics and Reimbursement will provide support for the development and implementation of strategic economic and reimbursement plans at Cooper Surgical. This position requires the exceptional ability to plan for the use of data and evidence to support value proposition development and market access advocacy. The Manager will be responsible for interacting with payers, providers, trade associations, physician societies and internal stakeholders (ie, marketing, medical affairs, government affairs, and sales) to develop, implement, and maintain economic, reimbursement, and market access strategies for the Cooper Surgical portfolio of products.

  • Self-starter with a minimum of 2 years experience in healthcare economics, health policy, and reimbursement.
  • In depth understanding of US government (CMS, state) and commercial coding systems, reimbursement, and coverage policy development impacting hospital inpatient, hospital outpatient, ASC’s, and physicians (some international experience preferred).
  • Experience driving and translating data analysis to effective product/procedure value propositions and patient access advocacy.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate health economic analysis and policy impacts to diverse group of stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Strategic thinker with experience implementing programs outside of direct reporting relationships.
  • Undergraduate degree in relevant area required: advanced degree preferred (MPH, MBA, MS).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT).
