Summary:

The manager of Medical staff Services provides leadership, management and operational oversight to the Medical Staff Services department. The manager works collaboratively with the Regional Chief Medical Officer and Medical Staff Leaders to plan, organize, direct and coordinate the programs and activities of the Medical Staff and ensure that the strategies of the Medical Staff are supported and attained, goals and plans are realized and there is adherence to the requirements of regulatory and accreditation bodies that are relevant to the organized Medical Staff. Key administrative departmental relationships include Administration and Quality Management Department. 

Responsibilities • Works 1:1 with credentialing specialists to address concerns and document issues with initial and reappointment applications • Provides 100% audit on initial and credentialing applications • Additional responsibility is to monitor reappointments to assure none go over 24 months, per TJC standards and/or 36 months, per NCQA standards • In Directors absence, this position provides expertise and works collaboratively with the IT Dept. on the following issues: prescribe, 340-B Program, system access for medical staff (CSARs) and medical record suspension support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, or a related field, Masters Preferred
  • Strong healthcare expertise.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self directed. Ability to make quality, independent decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines.
