LADY MARQUITA WRAIGHT SCHOLARSHIP FOR ELGAR STUDIES
Under the terms of the will of the late Lady Marquita Wraight, the Elgar Foundation has been left a legacy to be used as follows:
“to establish a scholarship or bursary to stimulate study and research on Elgar and his music in universities and music schools on the European continent (that is, outside the United Kingdom)”
Accordingly, the Foundation proposes to offer funding up to a maximum of £36,500 to support a project (or projects) that satisfy the terms of the Wraight bequest. Applications should include an outline of the project, with a brief breakdown of how the funds would be used, time-scale and proposed form of publication (in the broadest sense). The proposal should be no longer than 1000 words and submitted in both an anonymised form and in a form that identifies the applicant, to Professor John Whenham, Honorary Secretary of The Elgar Foundation, at mailto:[email protected] – [email protected]. Applications should be received no later than 7 March 2025.
