Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth through the study and engagement in visual arts. Enable student to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Education/Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements and level assigned
• ESL Certification preferred or ESL Certification required within two (2) years of employment beginning with teachers hired in 2010-11 school year

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of subjects assigned
• General knowledge of design and delivery issues related to alignment for best results in student achievement
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience:

• Student teaching or approved internship

Hiring administrators review applications, interview, and recommend for hire.

Probationary contract – 187 days plus 4 days of Alief U professional development for a teacher new to the district. 

$4500 Stipend
