Job Overview:
The IRC’s Resettlement, Asylum, & Integration (RAI) department works to create opportunities for refugees and other vulnerable migrants to survive and thrive in the U.S. and Europe through a diverse portfolio of programs aimed at five core outcomes: Health, Safety, Economic Wellbeing, Education and Power. As part of its strategy, the IRC is focused on becoming an outcome-driven, evidence-based organization with a commitment to data-driven programming. The Measurement Intern will work to support the Research, Analysis, and Learning Unit’s measurement team. In this role, the intern will work on current and ongoing monitoring and evaluation (M&E) initiatives and support IRC’s Outcomes & Evidence Framework across the RAI network. She/he will work directly under the supervision and guidance of the Deputy Director for Measurement & Data Analysis.
Major Responsibilities:
-Support administration and implementation of measurement data collection tools across RAI network:
oDevelop and update data collection tools in MS Forms and SurveyMonkey
oReview client responses and flag cases in need of follow-up
oReview and submit timesheets for enumerators
oSet-up check-ins with enumerators
oSupport distribution of gift cards to participants
-Assist with data management and cleaning, as well as quality control and data analysis
-Contribute to developing and maintaining M&E-related training resources, newsletters, and announcements
-Update and maintain team intranet
-Provide support for meetings, communities of practice, and trainings
-Monitor shared inbox and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
-Update and maintain distribution lists as needed
-Other related duties as assigned
Learning Outcomes:
-Learn skills for operationalizing M&E in a nonprofit program management context
-Enhance skills in data collection, data cleaning, and knowledge management
-Strengthen knowledge management, communication, and program administration skills
-Develop an understanding of the challenges and opportunities in designing effective M&E systems
Internship Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree preferred
-Experience and/or coursework in knowledge/data management
-Demonstrated ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision
-Excellent, demonstrated skills in Microsoft Excel, PPT/Canva, and Word
-Excellent written and communication skills and attention to detail
-Commitment to GEDI (Gender, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion) principles
-Experience with Airtable highly desirable
